Philip Young carried links to a sweepingly slanderous view of the entire PR industry by anti-PR author John ‘toxic sludge’ Stauber. Using social media to promote his hugely prejudicial views, Stauber makes no attempt to balance or qualify his case. For example, how do claims of PR=propaganda wash in the case of not-for-profits or public information campaigns that deploy PR tactics to serve genuine public interest? Answer, it doesn’t. What we can conclude tho, is that Stauber’s anti-PR agenda eclipses his ability to make a balanced evaluation of the broader PR-industry.
