Aussie brand names shamed in national ‘Shonky Awards’

Australian consumer advocate organisation ‘Choice’, has just announced its 2010 ‘Shonky Awards’. Under the spotlight of shame are Commonwealth Bank, Coles, LG and Nurofen. Potential PR disasters all round.

Centre stage are the many financial organisations charging customers for the privilege of paying – when you’re charged for using a credit card, yet no other form of payment is accepted. Also, mobile phone companies offering ‘capped’ plans where you pay more than the cap have also flown under the Shonky radar. Then, there are those $50 printers that can cost thousands of dollars to run over a couple of years. Here’s the bad oil from Choice…
